Successful Completion of On-Site Data Acquisition at Montenegro’s Pilot Heritage Sites

Between 3 and 7 November 2025, an expert team from Arctur carried out fieldwork at Fortress Goražda and Žabljak Crnojevića. Using high-resolution photogrammetry and advanced 3D capture techniques, the team collected detailed datasets that form the foundation for accurate digital reconstruction.

The data acquisition process included systematic photographic and video documentation, GPS tagging for precise spatial referencing, and careful recording of environmental conditions to ensure data quality and reproducibility. All activities were conducted in accordance with Arctur’s standardized quality assurance protocols and metadata procedures. The fieldwork was implemented in close coordination with local partners, who supported site access and preparation.

The collected datasets are now entering the initial data processing phase, including image alignment, point cloud generation, mesh reconstruction, and texturing. This work will result in the first high-quality 3D models of the pilot sites, to be presented in a forthcoming update.
