Tourism 4.0 Montenegro Presented at the Long Night of Research in Vienna

The Long Night of Research (Lange Nacht der Forschung), held in Vienna on 24 April 2026, showcased innovative digital solutions and emerging technologies supporting sustainable industrial development and digital transformation.

At the UNIDO booth, visitors explored digital solutions developed within the project Supporting the Transition to Tourism Industry 4.0 in Montenegro Driven by Digital Technologies. The presentation highlighted how advanced digital technologies can support the transformation of Montenegro’s tourism sector through innovation, immersive storytelling, and enhanced visitor experiences.

The Tourism 4.0 Montenegro initiative was presented alongside other international innovation projects, including VR-based industrial training solutions developed through the EELA Kenya programme. The showcased activities demonstrated the role of digital technologies, AI, and technological learning in fostering more inclusive, resilient, and competitive industries.

The event was attended by Cecilia Ugaz Estrada, Deputy to the UNIDO Director General and Managing Director of the Directorate of Strategic Planning, Programming and Policy, who emphasized the importance of research, digitalization, and innovation in shaping future industrial development.
